Chiru’s 150th film talk reappears
Hyderabad, Jan 25 : Chiranjeevi’s 150th film is
being seen as a landmark film and speculations are rife and they keep
popping up with a measured periodicity.
The news has been doing the rounds for quite some time, from 2008 to be more precise.
That was the time when Chiranjeevi started his Praja Rajyam Party and took a plunge into active politics. While the political journey had a bumpy ride, which finally ended in the Congress fold, the acting part has been evoking curiosity from time to time.
Every known writer and director and heroine was identified with Chirnajeevi’s land mark film and like Sachin Tendulkar’s 100th Test century, it kept on eluding.
Some days back there was a difference of opinion, rather controversy when the remarks of Ram Charan Teja that Tamil films have good directors like Murugudoss, Shankar and others unlike in Tollywood. This created a furore when Balakrishna took objection and reacted the sharply.
Chiranjeevi’s matured comments have settled the matter for that moment but slowly the reasons are coming into the open. Chiranjeevi’s family has a liking to Tamil directors is evident by the recent sequence of events.
Ram Charan’s comments on Tamil directors may be the beginning of the link. Next, he said that he was offered the role of Aamir Khan in the remake of 3 Idiots titled Snehithudu but he turned down as the comparison with Aamir comes despite knowing the fact that Shankar will be directing the film.
Now comes the inevitable. Shankar is directing Chiranjeevi’s 150th film and it will be a period film with the story of a freedom fighter.
That be the case, with two years to go to polls, it will be a good venture for Chiranjeevi while his arch rival Balakrisha, who is going to towns slapping his thigh and twirling his moustache, may also come up with some masala film that could aid TDP, which is using him as a poster boy.
Who acts and in what film, remains to be seen as and when they unfold as nothing is static or absolutely authentic in the film land which is full of half truths.

No Indian entry for Oscars this year too
Hyderabad, Jan 25 (INN): Two years after
Slumdog Millionaire swept eight of the ten Oscar Awards on offer, there
is not a single Indian entry for the Oscars this year even in the
Foreign language film category for 2011.
Only five films appear in the foreign language category including Bullhead (Belgium), Footnote (Israel), In Darkness (Poland), Monsieur Lazhar (Canada) and A Separation (Iran).
Brad Pitt in Money ball and Gary Oldman in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier are likely to vie for the best actor along with Demaina Bichir, George Clooney and Jean Dujardin while Meryl Streep in Iron Lady stands out in the best actor female category, a section which also has Michelle Wiliams (My Week with Marilyn and Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs) along with Vioola Davis and Rooney Mara.
Hugo leads the best film pack which also has The Artists, The Defendants, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, The Help , Midnight in Paris, Money ball, The Tree of Life and War Horse in contention.
